A Frank Lloyd Wright design for LIFE Magazine in 1938, the Bernard Schwartz house was adapted and built in Two Rivers, Wisconsin in 1939. It is a two story Usonian design.
This is my most detailed model to date. I worked from the floor plans published in the Frank Lloyd Wright Companion by William Storrer and from photographs from several sources: my own photos taken during a vsiit to the house in 2012, photos of the house when first built by Pedro Guerreo (guerreophoto.com), and photos from the blog of Peter Beers (peterbeers.net). My model is somewhat of a mix of original and the more recent version of the house, which has had some minor modifications over the years. I tried to be more true to the original design, but had to guess at some of the details when I couldn’t find photos. I hope you like it.
Update 12/5/2105: Fixed an issue with front cantilever alignment to house. The lower section of my first canteliver did not meet the house in the proper location.
