The area where once stood the iconic building known as the Tricorn has stood undevloped for many years now. The North Commercial Road development has been stalled and shows little sign of becoming a reality.
So, for a bit of fun, here I have let my imagination run riot and moved the Police and Law Courts, plus the NHS Walk in Centre into a new combined building.
The Cascades building I have downloaded from the two hundred odd Portsmouth buildings on here by 'Si". They help scale my model and can't thank who ever they are enough. Just added his model of St. Agatha's Church, it just helps put the building in its background.
For the record I am not an architect and the building is not a finished product, it is just here to hopefully make people think about what spaces are around us and the other possibilities for their uses.
Hope you like

Just made a few tiny updates. Main one is to show the retractable security posts in front of the main entrance. With its concrete flower beds the area in front of the building was always meant as a safe space from any car attacks.
I've realized that I have never really explained the layout of the site...
On the right is the Public Car Park, this is completely separate from the rest of the building.
On the left below ground is a storage and garage area for Police & Ambulance Vehicles. Above ground with a shared entrance is the Law Courts & Police HQ. Above in the tower is more police office spaces, plus Holding Cells.
In between the main building and the public parking is an NHS Walk in Center, on the roof of which is a helicopter pad for medical emergencies and the police.
At ground level in Charlotte Street are a number of shop spaces.
This is still a model I like, above all I still think it makes sense to move all these facilities into new modern premises in the heart of the City.
