The Peters-Margedant house was designed and built in Evansville, Indiana in 1935 by William Wesley Peters, Frank Lloyd Wright's first apprentice. It is only 552-square feet, and while it does reflect the style of the time period, it has many innovative features that were later included in Wright's Usonian style houses, including a central fireplace, board and batten siding, and a flat roof. For more information about the house, its discovery and plans for restoration, visit the website listed. This site got me interested in building this model.
My model is not entirely accurate to the built house, as I based it on what I could find online and did not have all details available to me. I still think it's a good representation of the building. I had to guess at the kitchen, but most of the other parts are from the plan and elevations I found. If you look at the model and are wondering what the small triangular frnced-in area outside the left side of the house is, the plans read as a fuel storage bin, which, for the time period, I would assume means coal.
Many thanks to all whose models I've used to furnish and add detail to my model. A full list can be found under Window/Model Info/Credits.
