This is a model of one of the magnificent Yellowstone 2-8-8-4 locomotives used by the Duluth. Missabe and Iron Range. They were built between 1941 and 1943 to haul 180+ car ore trains in Minnesota. They were among the last great steam locomotives retired when no. 222's fire dropped after a days work on July 5, 1960. This model took me a few weeks to do, and is still missing a few details like pipes and conduit, but I figured it would be good enough for upload. I used dimensions from two real surviving locomotives, 225 in Proctor and 227 in Duluth. Created by Pappy Locomotive Works, josephdmir316@gmail.com
