Opened in 1924 the Harvey Shops facility makes up one of the 9 buildings at the TTC's Hillcrest Complex. The Harvey Shops is responsible for doing heavy maintenance on the TTC's fleet of Streetcars. The facility is also often used by buses as well when they are not at the neighboring Duncan Shops for maintenance. Like the Duncan Shops, the Harvey Shops does operations such as Heavy Overhauls, Painting, Sanding, Heavy bodywork, Interior work, Motor work, and other operations that can't be performed at a normal carhouse. The Harvey Shop is also home to one of the last full-time Black Smith shops in Canada. Harvey Shop is also responsible for crafting parts for the Streetcar overheads and trolley poles.
With the arrival of the the new fleet of LFLRV's to the Streetcar fleet, heavy maintenance operations will be shifted down to the soon to be completed "Leslie Carhouse". This will leave the fate of Harvey Shop in limbo with buses receiving work at Duncan. The likely outcome for this problem may be buses will be shifted to Harvey and Duncan will be used for non-revenue vehicles.
