IMI Detail 01.030.0751. This detail shows a low roof connected to a higher masonry wall. The masonry flashing and counterflashing is independent of the roof flashing system, so the roof can be replaced without disturbing the masonry. The roof structure bears on a masonry bond beam, part of the loadbearing masonry wall. The wall has a 2" clear air space for drainage, and weep vents are spaced at 24" o.c. There is an air/moisture/vapor barrier on the cavity side of the CMU, and 2" rigid insulation resides in the drainage cavity.
This detail is intended for the use of industry professionals who are competent to evaluate the significance and limitations of the information provided herein.
