This is a restaurant design I did with a co-worker at my previous employer: MCL Hospitality Ltd.. This Greek kitchen pushed our creativity to come up with a modern and elegant Greek kitchen that does not reflect the average scheme of your typical white and blue Greek cuisine. We had some constraints that forced us to find some inexpensive and unique finishes such as unfinished lumber on the walls and ceiling and plywood. We truly wanted to stick to using wood as our main material and ended up using 5 "different" types of woods: Pine Boards, Stained Oak Floors (As existing), Clear Maple tables, Maple Veneer Plywood and the piece de résistence - Olive Wood from Italy. With all these different types of grains, different stains needed to come into play to tie it all together. Our bar has a custom design that was cut out using a CNC machine that creates a unique curved effect. This "curved effect" created with the plywood "fins" was calculated using arches and different angles. The bar top was completed with a concrete cast-in-place top that follows the shape of the CNC'd fins creating a nice smooth eating surface. Our booths are finished with tufted upholstery backs with faux-leather seats. All in all, this project was a whole lot of fun and the turn out was amazing. I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant if ever you're in Little Italy in Ottawa Ontario for the food is exceptional and also well priced. #Cuisine #EVOO #Greek #Greek_Kitchen #Little_Italy #Ontario #Ottawa #Preston #Restaurant
