* improved file size* Hi, I included some guides showing the footprint that the laundry machines would have if you opened the door, etc. - just in case you need the info for spacing in your model. I tend to like clean, simple models, so I became curious why this model file size was in excess of 6.8 MB, I wondered if you had included huge amounts of detail to the inside of the washer/dryer, but found out that the image files you used were huge, not just in file size, but visually, too. I hope, you won't take offense at this, but I took your model and changed ONLY the two textures, to see what effect optimized images would have on the final model. https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?id=u9f021ac0-7ad4-43bb-b574-179c784440ca File size was reduced to 1.8 MB No offense intended. Cheers, eh. C.C.

Thank you, C.C.! No offence at all! I'm actually very happy about your comment. For future model making I should really reduce the image size. Is there a rule of thumb you would suggest? Best, NT ps.: the link you added doesn't seem to work for me, it leads me to an error message.

A lot depends on how much detail or clarity you're willing to lose in a texture. I like to squeeze my image's file size down as much as I can, but I like to keep as much image detail as possible...it's a trade off. Remember though, that textures that are intended to cover large portions of your model will definitely showcase ANY blurred or corrupted images. The image editor I use is an older version of Photoshop (CS2)...one of the best features of this program is the option called "Save for Web...". It gives you up to 4 configurable choices for file type, file size, number of colors and so on. The really nice part is the number of settings you can use....it's REALLY invaluable when using large textures. I've been a Photoshop-user for a very long time, but I would think that any number of other image editors would offer similar features. Cheers, C.C.

Try that link again. I'd inadvertently set the image to private :-]

..unfortunately the link is still giving me an error message suggesting that the model is "private" https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?id=u9f021ac0-7ad4-43bb-b574-179c784440ca

Um, sorry again...I made the ass-umption that you had already seen my adjusted version of your model...and deleted it from my account and hard drive. No problem, it takes seconds to do the actual work, so i re-edited it. https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?id=u5cf15a83-36f6-4700-8775-c1c69d098142 3D Warehouse is finally showing the model files again. I also did a similar adjustment to the "Top load washer/dryer" in your list... It went from 22 MB down to 2.5 MB https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?id=uaa0d0f09-68cb-4358-9461-cfbda6dbed7b
