This is Meijer store 35, the Eureka-Pardee location in Taylor, Michigan, as it appeared in 1993. The store first opened on July 19, 1977 with a dark brown brick facade and the old "Big M" and "Thrifty Acres" signs. The first major renovation in 1991 resulted in what this model depicts. A second renovation in 2001-02 heavy changed the southeast and northeast entrances and the exterior was once again repainted. Additionally, the two logo signs on the building were replaced by one with the same logo, but with a green "Fresh" tagline. The third and most recent renovation in 2013 drastically changed both the exterior and the interior to confirm to current Meijer standards. For the first 36 years of this store's existence it featured three customer entrances-two facing Pardee Road and one facing Eureka Road.
In addition to the store building itself, I have also included models of the accompanying gas station and a nearby Source Club store. Source Club was Meijer's short-lived early 1990's attempt to venture into the membership warehouse business. It only lasted a year before the plug was pulled permanently. This particular Source Club location never reopened afterwards and was eventually demolished for condominiums. I have also included other buildings that stood on this property's outlot in 1993 in white.
For those who don't know, I had this model sitting on my hard drive since 2014 and I haven't touched this model at all between November 2014 and the date this was finally posted to the 3D Warehouse. Since then, the aerial images in this area have been replaced with those showing the current incarnation of store 35.
