Rackie is made out of Meccano parts. Rackie is named after its giant claw, which is made of rack strips (parts 110c). Fictional Story: Rackies (Rack Bots) are autonomous mining robots (futuristic) that were deployed by the thousands to our asteroid belt (between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter) with a dual purpose. 1. To mine and separate precious metals and minerals; and 2. To hollow out large asteroids for future use (bases and space vehicles). Rackies have a number of tools at their disposal for mining. Their scorpion-like tails pulse lepton shockwaves that shatter the hardest of rock. The large claw is used as a crusher, grinder, and mover. The small claw can slice, pry, sweep, and place rocks. Rackie(s) can fly from asteroid to asteroid. When they do so, they fly backwards, emitting electron pulses from their spinning green mouth (part M978), which I forgot to mention is also a pulverizing rock drill. All in all, this was a fun build, so we decided to keep Rackie on display.
