No need for cement bases here. Each reservoir is individually filled by two 1/4" drip lines. Water pressure reaching the top rung will be an issue if the bottom lines are not regulated. Unless you use a decent pump. YouTube Brandon Matthew hydroponic nft with bucket system / dutch bucket; he covers two pumps, and the one he prefers. . . . Hmmmm . fill from top right drain into next level on left. drain on right and so on... beware of the weight. 1 gallon of water weighs about 8.3 lbs, per Google, times 5 times 9; so about 375lbs for this project. Not too heavy here, but could be. And then the wood @ 20lbs per 2x6 times 4 ~ 80lbs. and the 2x4's, 13lbs times ~ 3.5' = 45.5. All together about a 1/4 ton. Most of this weight is displaced downwards, just don't walk under it. :)
