Dennis Dart SLF 9.2M Plaxton Pointer 2 - Template

I might be uploading more bus models in the future as i'm hoping to train as a driver soon :D This is a template for the Plaxton Pointer mk2 fixed on a Dennis Dart SLF chassis with a length of 9.2M (30ft) Pointer 2's were exported to Canada and the US so i could make a LHD version if anyone's interested? :) Infoo: In 1995, Dennis, the principle British bus chassis (and fire engine) manufacturer, introduced a low-floor version of its popular Dart Midi bus chassis (a midi bus is smaller then a regular single deck bus but larger then a mini bus) . The Dennis Dart SLF (super low floor) was available in lengths of 9.2M(30FT) , 10M(32FT) and 10.6M(34FT) and had a width of 2.4M (7FT) It came with air suspension in place of the step entrance darts Taper Leaf suspension and an option to be fitted with either Allison or Voith automatic gearboxes or an Eaton Manual gearbox. The Dart SLF was made available with many different bodywork's, but by far the most popular was the Pointer mk2 introduced by Scarborough based Plaxton in 1997. The Dart was also lengthened and Shortened with these versions being named after the pointer (11.3M(37FT) Super pointer dart & 8.8M(28FT) Mini Pointer dart respectively). From 2001, all versions of the Dart came equipped with 4-cylinder 3.9-litre Cummins ISBe engines except the 11.3M SPD which came with a more powerful 6-cylinder, 5.9-litre version. From 2001, the Dennis and Plaxton companies (along with Walter Alexander coach builders of Falkirk Scotland) were merged into one company, Transbus. This brought together the chassis and the bodywork into one company and also resulted in Alexander's ALX200 bodywork for the dart being discontinued in-favor of the Pointer 2. Then in 2004, Transbus collapsed and a new company, Alexander Dennis, was formed but this time, without Plaxton. Unusually however, the new Alexander Dennis company had won the rights to the Plaxton Pointer 2, and so built it on the Dart chassis as the "Alexander Dennis Pointer". Plaxton Came up with its own Midibus, the Primo, but it was ultimately unsuccessful. In 2006, Alexander Dennis unveiled a brand new Midi bus model to replace the pointer and the Dart, The Enviro 200Dart (my local family run operator had the first one in service! ^_^ ). The Enviro 200 replaced the Pointer in 2007 and the Plaxton company has since been acquired by Alexander dennis (but as a separate entity building luxury coaches). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Credits go to Solomon T for almost all of it. All i did was clean up some extra lines and Group the panels to make things easier to paint and edit :) #Alexander_Dennis #Bus #Buses #Dennis #Dennis_Dart #Dennis_Dart_SLF #Plaxton #Plaxton_Pointer #Plaxton_Pointer_2 #Public_transport #Template #Transbus #Transport
