Maple Leaf Gardens

Maple Leaf Gardens

Nick
It hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL from 1931 (its finishing time) to 1999, when they moved into the new Air Canada Centre. It was closed in 2002 and its future is uncertain, because the spectator stands are holding it up, as they form some sort of interior flying buttress. Many wanted to do something like what happened with the Montreal Forum (turned it into a entertainment complex called the Pepsi Forum) but the issue of wall support bars this from happening anytime soon.
