This is a model of the old Soldier Field, before it was rennovated into the new Soldier Field, which looks like a UFO that landed on Chicago's lakefront. The historic colonnades are still there at the new stadium, and are open the public every day, but the history and tradition of the old stadium seem to have been lost amid the shiny, new stadium.
This is the site of the largest attendance in history for a college football game on November 16, 1929 in a Notre Dame - USC game (112,000 in attendance). Soldier Field has been the home of the Chicago Bears since 1971 when they left Wrigley Field.
