During her time in the dry dock, JS Izumo went through a refurbishment in order to obtain rudimentary capability to operate F-35B. Her sister ship JS Kaga is currently going through a more extensive renovation and is presumed to have a new bow for F-35B to take off easily, larger windows on the island to better control aircraft within the vicinity, and some new electronics. Both sister ships are planned to go through another update with Izumo modifying her bow and internal components in 2024, and Kaga changing the latter in 2026.
I'll be posting JS Kaga as soon as it departs the dry dock.
