Wooden Church in Kalna Roztoka (Slovakia)

Wooden Greek Catholic Church in Kalná Roztoka (an 18th century church) was built in the year 1750. It is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. Wooden church is currently “in a fur coat”, as it is plastered and bleached with lime in order to protect the church against the weather. Even despite the fact that plaster forms the impression of compact bricked building, this is a church with three parts, three spaces, one tower and two crosses. Structure is classic, rustic, the tower has columned structure. The entire roof of the church as well as the tower are covered with shingles. Last complete renovations of the church and belfry were done in 2002 - 2004.
