The downtown Post Office/Federal Building was built in 1909 and expanded in 1941. The expansion followed the style of the original building , which was designed by James Knox Taylor, then Supervising Architect for the Treasury Department, who designed numerous federal buildings of the era. The 10-story US Courthouse was completed in 1967 and renamed in 1999 in honor of Thomas S Foley, long-time Spokane Congressman who served as Speaker of the House from from 1989 to 1995. #Courthouse #federal #Federal_Building #James_Knox_Taylor #Post_Office #Spokane #Thomas_S_Foley #Tom_Foley
