The International Space Station ISS is a space research platform in low earth orbit. It was built by the combined efforts of five space agencies starting in 1998, and since then nearly 250 astronauts have visited it, being continuously inhabited since 2000. It took 10 years to build with over 30 missions contributing to its construction.
