A Modern Usonian upscale house. Skylit indoor gardens wrap around the central 1-1/2 story living room area. There are two side wings- a Kitchen/ utility wing, and a Bedroom wing. There are 2 children's bedrooms, a parent's bedroom suite with private terrace, and 3 bathrooms.
There are Utility and storage rooms adjacent to the carport at the front of the house. Alternating columns of 8" block enclose the carport and the parent's bedroom terrace. Glass blocks fill the gaps between the block columns to form one wall of the indoor garden.
Air conditioning ducts run from the utility room up into the 24-inch deep main living room roof supported by steel beams. Ducts drop into the side wings from the main roof on either side. Clerestory windows wrap around all sides of the living/ garden area to supply additional light.
The carport and entry have a low 7 foot ceiling. This continues as an low deck over the home theater/ fireplace alcove. The bedroom and kitchen wings have 8 foot ceilings which extend as decks flanking the main living room to shield it from sunlight. The main living/ garden area has a 14 foot ceiling.
