Now incorporated into part of the Jackson Ford sales yards just like the Salisbury's Foundries, this small building used to face onto the Queens Wharf and hence gives indication to its origins. William Holyman operated a shipping company from Launceston dating from the mid 1800s. This building was built as their headquarters and offices and its location near the Customs House and barely meters from the waters edge (prior to the levee system filling in the wharves and narrowing the river) was considered an ideal location and only a short walk to the railyards at Willis Street and Inveresk. The building was eventually sold on when Holymans Shipping and ANA moved into their new offices in Holyman House on the corner of Brisbane Street around 1936. The building slowly deteriorated until it was restored as part of the Jackson Ford site.
