The EMD SD70 is a series of six-axle diesel-electric locomotives developed by Electro-Motive Diesel from 1992 until 2004. One such variant was the SD70MAC, sometimes referred to simply as MACs or "Big Macs", were manufactured by Electro-Motive Diesel from 1993 to 2004. These locomotives were fitted with North American Safety Cabs, along with steerable HTCR-4 trucks to reduce wear on the wheel flanges and railheads.
CSX is currently rebuilding its fleet of SD70MAC locomotives into what is classified as the SD70MACe. CSX shortened the model name to SD70AC to fit within their six-character limit.
