The Sillogue Water Tower is a 39m high water tower with a capacity of 5 million litres, ground level reservoir with a 30 million litre capacity, and a pumping station. The challenge for the water tower, which is a prominent structure immediately adjacent to the M50 and close to Dublin Airport, was to achieve a design that was both structurally efficient and elegant in appearance. The consultants to the project ably rose to the challenge with the use of a double parabolic curve profile accentuated by vertical recessed fluting.
