The Char D2 was an upgrade of the Renault D1 tank developed during the interwar period.
The Renault D2 was in service with the French army between 1936 and 1945, after the fall of France, a few number of captured renault D2 entering service with the German army, some of these was send in the eastern front for figthing the soviet army.
There is a picture of a destroyed D2 tank near the Reichtag in 1945.
The D2 tank was the tank used by the colonel Charles De Gaulle during the battle of france in 1940.
