A bunk bed is a type of bed where two nets are superimposed over each other. Bunk beds are therefore typically used where space is limited, such as ships and barracks, or places where you want to increase beds such as dormitories, bungalows, caravans and campers, hostels, baby cribs or prison cells, etc.
The bunk beds are normally supported by four pillow-type supports at the four corners of the bed. A ladder is used to reach the net or upper bed. The upper bed can be surrounded by a shore to prevent the occupant from falling, and some models also have a lower bed privacy tent. Because of the height of the upper bed and the need to reach it with the ladder, in the USA it is not recommended for children under the age of six.
The mezzanine bed is a kind of bunk bed where you only have the upper bunk; In this way you create in the part below, spaces that can be occupied by a crate, drawers, or even from a work area with a desk. The loft beds make it possible to use even the smallest spaces, thanks to the use of the vertical area that would otherwise be unused.
