This model is an example from Dutch military campaign of 1948 in Indonesia, code-named "Operatie Kraai" (Operation Crow). The door panels feature the writing "naar Djokja" (to Djokja) which refers to the City of Yogyakarta, the primary target of the campaign. The CMP trucks had been primary transport for Dutch NICA (Netherland Indies Civil Administration) troops during their colonial war effort. Despite its ugly appearance, the truck proved itself a tough and versatile vehicle for Indonesian primitive roads and rugged terrain of those days. After the war, along with other equipments, most of these trucks were handed-over by the Dutch to the Indonesian government. Today what remain of them could only be found as heap of scraps in Indonesian most remote countrysides. #3t #4x4 #C60L #chevrolet #CMP #military #truck
