an improved version of ZNO's model. Russia Tower - skyscraper in the territory of Moscow, whose building they plan to complete in 2012. The proposed height of tower is 612 meters. According to the chief architect of this project, Norman Foster, the tower must become the highest building in Europe and the second tallest in the world. The total area of the structure will cover 520,000 square meters, of which 200,000 will be located underground. In the tower they plan to make 118 floors (it is suggested that it contains 130 in the final design, although this has not been finalised), 101 elevators, underground parking to accomodate 3680 automobiles. On the first floor the commercial shops will be placed. They will fill the ground floor of the tower under the offices. The building will be able to hold 25,000 people simultaneously. The proposed site for the tower is on the Krasnopresnenskoy Embankment. The building is scheduled to begin construction in 2007. The solution to build this enormous building was accepted by officials as early as 1994, and since then tower changed its assumed position five times. On one of the versions, devised by Foster, the height of the tower was to be 1000 m. But this version was turned down by the mayor of Moscow Luzhkov. Thanks to Pushok for the original model.
