This is a model of a real-life house located at 1875 Knox Street in the South Fairmount neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, next door to the Nagele-Merz House. Positioned at an odd angle, the late 19th Century house is located in front of two much smaller dwelling structures, which creates an interesting and unique rhythm that is not often seen in other parts of the city, where house placement is much more regular. This house's defining feature is a large, centrally-located two-floor canted bay window, which is not common in this house's immediate area. This house may have been built as a summer or vacation cottage for a wealthy German-American family, like many of the surrounding dwellings, who were members of the Schuetzen-Verein up the street in the old Fairmount Baptist Theological Seminary between 1866 and 1888. The house received several one-floor rear additions around the 1920s, which also may have removed a pre-existing side porch that I show in the model. Feel free to use this model as you see fit, on the condition that you contact me first so I know where it is being used (I'd love to see it wherever it ends up), and give me a mention or credit wherever it is used or published. #Cincinnati #QueenAnne #Victorian #HistoricArchitecture
