Wissam Sobh
The F-117 Nighthawk was an aircraft developed by the American company Lockheed Corporation . The main characteristics of the aircraft are its stealth capability, ie that the aircraft emits a relatively small radar echo . According to the US Air Force , this type of plane should be virtually impossible to see on radar . During the 1991 Gulf War , this type of aircraft was widely used. It was also used in the Iraq war in 2003 . On March 27, 1999, during the Kosovo war , a plane of this type was shot down for the first time in the history of Serbian forces. The wreckage can be seen today at the Aviation Museum in Belgrade . The F-117 was taken out of service in the early 2000s . Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is intended to play a similar role in the future. The last flight took place on April 22, 2008 . The plane was then placed in a hangar and will remain in reserve for the time being.
