The Magic Planet is a product digital video globe from a company called Global Imagination. Many science centers and tourists spots have these. For information check out the Global Imagination website at www.globalimagination.com
While preparing to have a stand constructed for our Magic Planet we created a 3D model of the device itself. It is a 24 inch portable globe that uses a DLP projector to display images on the globe. Ours is currently in our Minds On Hall.
The 3D Earth in this drawing came from best-lemming , who has some great work available in the Google 3D Warehouse.
