UPDATED - Here is my SketchUp model of Serenity from the short-lived 2002 "Firefly" TV series and follow-up 2005 "Serenity" movie. Serenity is a 2400-ton, Allied Spacecraft Corp. 03-K64 Firefly-class, mid-bulk transport owned by Capt. Malcolm Reynolds, a former soldier on the losing side of a Unification War that placed a tyrannical system government in power called The Alliance. Mal and his crew – first mate Zoe Washburn, her husband pilot Hoban "Wash," chipper mechanic Kaylee Frye and the dim-witted mercenary Jayne Cobb – fly missions for whoever offers a job. A registered companion, Inara Serra, rents the #2 shuttle, and there are three resident passengers; the religious "Shepard" Derrial Book, and the fugitives Dr. Simon Tam and his psychic sister River, (both on the run from the Alliance). Needless to say, this was a difficult model to make in SketchUp, and took me most of the summer, working on it a little at a time, to complete. The "neck" and "engine yoke" sections were particularly difficult areas. I followed official blueprints but the model isn't 100% accurate, but I think it's pretty damn close. To keep the file size reasonable, I put the shuttles in a separate model. There are multiple views, flight, take-off, landing, and the "Crazy Ivan."
