THE US M1 - 57 MM WW2 ANTI TANK The Americans Army first saw the British 6 pounder in action in Tunisia that can penetrate most armor that the Germans could muster it became a must have with the Americans – with the lend lease agreement and the the sharing of information the drawings were shared with the Americans – and it was also been built in Canada too at the time --- this was to replace their own 37MM which by then was obsolete the gun went into production right away with some minor modification done to the carriage and their production methods also will be towed by jeeps and ½ tracks were the British were using the Tankettes for towing and trucks --- their a slight change to the barrel caliber to fit US 57MM other then that every thing remained the same most branches of the ARMY accepted the gun with one exception the US cavalry they were behind the times Conflicts WW2 European theater - KOREA it was also used by the Russians
