An approximation of the spacecraft docking system used on the International Space Station. Guide petals on both craft interlock and align the two correctly. The inner capture ring on the active side extends via hydraulic arms and motorized locks on the active petals engage when properly inserted, The capture ring then retracts when the spacecraft is captured. Twelve structural hooks located in the outer ring lock onto the other craft and strengthen the seal between the two.
