This is the top hat Thien baffle I designed and built using 3/4 baltic birch plywood, .040 Lexan polycarbonate for the side walls, and .223 Lexan polycarbonate for the top insert. This was designed to fit on a 30 gallon Behren's galvanized steel trashcan. I sealed all of the connections between the plywood and the lexan with DAP clear caulking. In the model the top pipe connection is 6" but in reality, since I am hooked up to an HF 2hp DC it's only 5". I also created a 30 gallon trashcan using actual measurements. **NOTE** I designed this insofar as I took established concepts and plans and adapted it to my needs. I am in no way trying to take credit for the fundamental design of this, the credit for which goes to Phil Thien.
