The Gamble House, by brothers Charles and Henry Greene, is one of the high watermarks of the American Arts and Crafts movement. The design is partly inspired by the wood-building vernacular traditions. Wide terraces and sleeping porches facilitate indoor-outdoor living. The Greenes designed every inch of the house and all of its contents, including furniture, built-ins, light fixtures, living room carpets, art glass doors and windows, metal downspouts, exterior details including the pond and the clinker brick walls. #AIA #Arts #CA #California #Charles_Greene #Crafts #Gamble #Henry_Greene #Pasadena
