Soviet lider Joseph Stalin 73 years of age died at 9:50 p.m. on March 5, 1953.
At 12:00 of 09 March 1953 was declared a national mourning. There was a moment of silence duration of 5 minutes. People and traffic stopped. Factories and plants have included siren. I was 4 years and 10 months old, and I remember that moment. My older brothers and I went out into the Leningradsky Prospect Street and stood silently five minutes.
When we returned to our communal apartment - all cried.

9 марта 1953 состоялись похороны. В 12 часов дня был объявлен государственный траур. Была объявлена минута молчания продолжительностью 5 минут. Люди и транспорт остановились. Фабрики и заводы включили сирены. Мне было 4 года и и 10 месяцев и я хорошо помню этот момент. Мои старшие братья и я вышли на проезжую часть Ленинградского проспекта и молча стояли пять минут.
