Air Italy was an Italian airline, headquartered in Milan, operating from 2005-2020. In 2011 Meridiana-fly announced that it would merge with Air Italy. Since 2013, Air Italy operated entirely on behalf of Meridiana using their corporate design. In 2018 Meridiana was officially re-branded and merged with Air Italy, 8 new aircraft were added, comprising 3 Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 5 Airbus A330-200s. The plan also introduced new branding, new uniforms, new airport lounge and new destinations. Qatar Airways would have had a Codeshare agreement with the airline. Meridiana slots were transferred to the new brand. Air Italy confirmed a commitment of 20 new 737 MAX from April 2018 over 3 years, while the A330s would have been sourced from Qatar Airways.
