English Electric - BAC Lightning F6. The aggressive looking Cold War warrior, with the ultimate sports car performance. Affectionately called the Frightening by some of those who flew them. Could do rocket like vertical takeoff, breathing lots of noise and fire, but needed enough runway to reach 170kt in the level before the pull up to the vertical, then straight up to 50,000ft or more. Didn’t carry a lot of fuel in the early days, a sort of vertical strip drag racer.
The paint job is from one of the survivors, the C/O of RAF 5 Sqdn’s XR770, on display at Binbrook UK.
Lots of dynamic parts, and click. All the dangling bits and drag chute can fold away or disappear. Canopy is also dynamic and cockpit interior is highly detailed.
