This facility was known as the Michael Meagher Memorial Hospital, or as it was renamed in 1948, St. Michael's Hospital. The first hospital was built in 1916 and remained until the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word decided to build a larger facility located at 5th and Walnut Street in Texarkana, Arkansas. The hospital was ultimately moved again in 1999 to the present-day, 128-acre campus of CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System, located just off I-30 between Summerhill Road and Cowhorn Creek Drive in Texarkana, Texas.
