Eye of Tiamat was part of a six part set of powerful power generation device created by the goa'uld. By itself the eye can generate incredible amount of power but if it used with it's complements the power produced will increase tenfold.The eye was originally created during the first goa'uld empire by Anubis in order to power his new superweapon. After a long war he was defeated by Ra who distributed the eyes between his underlings .This eye was originally given to goa'uld queen Tiamat who soon was killed by Marduk. Marduk was a such a terrible ruler, that his high priests decided to put him and the eye with carnivorous creature in sealed sarcophagus dooming him for thousands of year of ever lasting torment by constantly being killed and revived over and over. After Tau'ri discovered the stargate , a gate address to a planet where the eye was found ,was discovered by Archaeologist Alexander Britski. Britski and the and rouge Russian off world team went to the planet in order to recover the eye only to be killed by goa'uld they freed.After SGC discovered about the mission ,they send out a join Russian-American teem to recover Britski's team. But soon after arrival they discovered that Marduk was still alive and killed Britski's team.
