Last generation of serial produced 4-axle motor coach built for ČSD. Developed from elder classes M286.0 &M286.1 for international fast trains conection between Berlin, Prag and Vienna "Vindobona" (used there in early 70s). After replacing them with classical trains used together with "national" coaches class M296.2 (identical contruction but without specifical components for international trafic) in local fast trains in Bohemia. In present day all of allived pics are remotorised and still in operation.
Production: 1968-1969 (M296.2, total 25), 1969-1970 (M296.1, total 35 pics)

Use: International fast trains, fast trains on local tracks
