A superior, pink-flowered 'Annabelle'-type hydrangea, Invincibelle® Spirit II blooms on new wood so it is sure to flower even after harsh winters. Large, full, pink mophead flowers rebloom all summer so you will have flowers from mid-summer until frost. The flowers will age to an attractive green color. Sturdy stems hold the flowers upright so it will not flop like 'Annabelle'. It grows 3-4' tall and wide.
Hydrangea arborescens are very cold hardy, growing into USDA Zone 3. They should be pruned in late winter or early spring; the flowers will appear on the current season's growth. It will grow in either full sun or partial shade, but full sun is recommended for the best flower production, especially in northern climates. Unlike Hydrangea macrophylla, established H. arborescens plants will tolerate some drought.
$1 from each Invincibelle® Spirit II hydrangea sold is donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. BCRF is dedicated to advancing the world's most promising research to eradicate breast cancer in our lifetime. www.bcrf.org.
