The EMD SD70ACe-T4 is a six-axle diesel electric locomotive built by Electro-Motive Diesel, owned by Caterpillar through its subsidiary ProgressRail. It is essentially the EPA Tier-4 Emissions compliant version of the SD70ACe. Production began in 2015 and is still ongoing today. These locomotives are capable of producing 4,600 HP and have a top speed of 75 mph.
Union Pacific acquired a total of 100 units, numbered 3001 to 3099. The first twelve were EMD's demonstrator units, while the latter 88 are production units.
