STARGATE AIM-120 AIR-T0-AIR MISSIL COMPARISON

MorBius
This model compares the standard Raytheon AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) with the modified USAF F-302 AIM-120 Naquadah enhanced version. While both versions are nearly identical in size, appearance and function, they differ in two manor ways. First while the warhead carried by the most recent standard AIM-120C-7 missile carries a WDU-41/B 40 lb. high explosive blast fragmentation warhead, the F-302 AIM-120N version carries a modified Naquadah enhanced WDN-45/A 45 lb. high explosive charge that produces 200 times the explosive force of the standard AIM-120. And second, the modified AIM-120N is equipped with four compact circumferential micro pulse RCS thruster assemblies needed for missile control during spaceflight operations. Also shown are the two different versions of the Marvel Engineering Co. wing mounted rail launchers – the LAU-129 version on the standard AIM-120, and the modified LAUN-142 version for the F-302 AIM-120N
