3D model of Frank Lloyd Wright's 1936 Honeycomb House for Paul and Jean Hanna. The house is based on a hexagon grid with 26-inch sides.
I did not draw out the full hexagon grid for the model but took measurements directly from a scale floor plan. The plan was for the original 1936 house, but I had to change it to the later 1950s configuration so I could use modern photographs as a guide.
I got so caught up doing the model that I completely forgot to group things.
This house is significant because it is the first house of Wright's later Usonian era to use non-rectangular geometry. The house was an upscale Usonian that cost $35,000 in 1937 due to all the custom millwork required to execute the design.
