The wig wag crossing signals were the earliest electric railroad crossing signals. Most were around between the 1930's and 1960's. Most of them are gone today and are very rare to find still in operation at a railroad crossings. This Model of the wig wag is a typical model of a wig wag crossing. They call them wig wags because the red signal light wags back and forth, but does not flash. There are other types of wig wags out there, this model is the most common. #railroad #railroad_crossing #trains #wig_wag #wig_wag_crossings
