Starbase 6 was one of twenty original Federation Watchtower class starbases provided for in Chapter 8 / Article 52 of the Charter of the United Federation of Planets, “to be equitably located within the boundary of the Federation and outside of any possible conflict with the territorial boundaries of any Federation member”. Constructed over a 5-year period (2205-2210) in the Vega sector, the starbase followed the typical Watchtower design consisting of a primary hull, with a central command tower, set atop a secondary hull which housed cargo bays and maintenance sections. Circling the core about half-way down was an external docking wheel, and at the bottom was the energy reactor housing and multi-spectrum array, with an overall diameter of 850 meters and a height of 921 meters (1025 meters counting antenna arrays). This model depicts the starbase in 2264 as the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 approaches to take on supplies.
