The train was constructed by ABB and Kalmar verkstad.
X2000 was introduced in 1990 between Stockholm and Gothenburg. Today, it operates on most of the major lines in Sweden.
Between 2005-2007, the trains went through a renovation including new furnishing and color scheme.
