This is my attempt to visualize a sectional drawing of Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian House from his "60 years of Living Architecture" exhibit on the grounds of the future Guggenheim Museum in New York City in 1953.
The temporary house was constructed from pottery red "Brickcrete" concrete blocks and "Weldtex" striated plywood panels. This house was celebrated for its dramatic living room space. The ceiling rose to 12'6" with huge four-foot-high clerestory windows between it and the lower 7'6" deck over the seating alcove. The south wall to the right had 12-foot French doors. A pierced garden wall ran from the Exhibition Hall out of sight at the left, formed the east wall of the living room, and turned 90 degrees to enclose the living room terrace at the right.
