I used 3/4" plywood and used a jigsaw to cut out the 2 trees. I used a router to cut straight up the middle; bottom to center on one and top to center on the other. Edge Router was necessary and even a Dremal to smooth the edges. Lots of sanding. It looks beautiful whitewashed and battery operated faerie lights draped all over it. Minimalist Tree, no needles, no fluffing, stores flat.
