Beyer Hall was built in 1964 at the Iowa State University as Physical Education Building for men and was renamed in 1965 for Samuel W. Beyer, dean of Industrial Science from 1891 to 1931. It is home to a six-lane, 25 meter competitive pool with an attached diving well and seating for about 800 people. Also in the building are three basketball/ volleyball courts, a weight training room, six racquetball courts, two squash courts, and a steam room.
